Cement board (more labour)
Cement board doesn't offer insulation but it adds durability because it's like cement. This It takes more effort to work with but it's going to stand up to abuse. If you take a hammer to the cement board stucco wall, you'll take a chip or worst case a crack (think of hitting a brick wall... it's pretty tough stuff). In comparison, if you were to hit the Styrofoam wall with a hammer, you'll have a hole.
