Homes with Siding
Congratulations on moving up to a superior finish. Stucco adds character. If you have siding already on your exterior, applying stucco is a straightforward process. All we have to do is remove the old siding and you have all the options for stuccoing your home available to you.
NOTE: The most important thing to check before tearing off your old siding, is that the wall underneath can be stucco'd. There are some older homes that have a paper board under the siding and we would have to replace that as well. This would add to the cost because we would have to tear off this old wall system and replace with either plywood or DensGlass.

Installation Process:
Styrofoam
- Once the water barrier is in place, we permanently attach the styrofoan onto the wall.
- 1" - 5" Styrofoam is available, the benefit is a higher insulation (R-Value), and more energy savings.
- Alternatives:
- Cement board is an option, but it's more expensive because it's more labour intensive. It doesn't offer the same insulation benefits as Styrofoam.
- Wire mesh (not common anymore): we can still work with this system but it doesn't last as long as Styrofoam or cement board will. But it's slightly less money.
- Level the walls
- This process is done by hand. We cover every inch of your wall to make sure your walls are even.
- Crack Prevention:
- The most important part of the process is the correct application of the base coat and mesh on top of the Styrofoam (or cement board)
- The base coat is mixed and plastered to the wall.
- Then we add a flexible stucco mesh over top of the base coat. This is done to give the wall flexibility. Allowing the wall to expand and contract as the weather changes (from winter to summer).
- Finish Coat (colour)
