New Construction Homes
(with plywood or DensGlass showing)

No other finish gives you the kind of insulation that stucco does. Stucco adds character to your home. Why would you go for siding, it looks like cheap plastic. Brick can be classy but costs a fortune, saves nothing with insulation, and over 25% of our stucco refinishing jobs are brick. We are experts at stuccoing over DensGlass and Plywood.

No job is too large, too detailed, or even too small.

Choose from a large selection of colours.
Choose from wide variety of Artistic Treatments & Details.

Installation Process:

  1. Water protection over plywood or DensGlass (gypsum):

    • Roll-on (Water Protection)
      • It protects the wood from water damage. It's a plasticized paint that is applied to the bare wood as a protective barrier in case water gets behind the Styrofoam
      • Ready-mixed flexible coating that is roller- or brush-applied directly to approved wall substrates and functions as an air and weather barrier. Provides excellent secondary moisture protection to Senergy Wall Systems.
    • Eliminates seams, lap joints and staples
    • Approved fpr Senergy adesively-attached EIFS with drainage
    • Provides a seamless air and water-resistive barrier on mixed-cladding buildings
    • Provides third party confirmation of highest rating for air barriers

      NOTE:

If your walls are uneven and there are little steps or imperfections, we will use another product that offers the same weather protection, but allows us to apply a thicker coating that prepares the walls for finishing. The end result will be a smoother wall and less finishing time.

  2. Styrofoam
    • Once the water barrier is in place, we permanently attach the styrofoan onto the wall.
    • 1" - 5" Styrofoam is available, the benefit is a higher insulation (R-Value), and more energy savings.
    • Alternatives:
      • Cement board is an option, but it's more expensive because it's more labour intensive. It doesn't offer the same insulation benefits as Styrofoam.
      • Wire mesh (not common anymore): we can still work with this system but it doesn't last as long as Styrofoam or cement board will. But it's slightly less money.
  3. Level the walls
    • This process is done by hand. We cover every inch of your wall to make sure your walls are even.
  4. Crack Prevention:
    • The most important part of the process is the correct application of the base coat and mesh on top of the Styrofoam (or cement board)
    • The base coat is mixed and plastered to the wall.
    • Then we add a flexible stucco mesh over top of the base coat. This is done to give the wall flexibility. Allowing the wall to expand and contract as the weather changes (from winter to summer).
  5. Finish Coat (colour)
    • The final step is applying the finish coat which we mix whatever colour you choose.
    • You choose the colour
    • You choose the texture
    • We mix and apply to create the desired finish.

HOW TO TELL A QUALITY JOB
  • This is where you will really notice the imperfections from uneven walls. You will see smoother areas of the walls where there is supposed to be even texture.
  • You'll see colour variations that are uneven where the wall is uneven.
